Big Chemistry Robotlab Nijmegen The revolution of self-thinking molecular systems

Chiara received her master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. Now, she is a PhD candidate in the department of Artificial Intelligence, advised by dr. Tal Kachman. Chiara is currently working on modeling complex (chemical) systems. Complex systems consist of many components that interact with each other. Even though these components may be simple, the full system may be difficult to model due to dependency-based emergent properties. Thus, instead of capturing these from the bottom up, she aims to leverage recent advances in deep learning by enriching existing (hand-crafted) models with a data-driven description of the systems’ emergent properties.
